A while has passed since our last compilation has been released but just in time for the 2011 holiday season Project: Mooncircle and Finest Ego bring you the already fifth edition of our acclaimed compilation series. Shifting focus towards central Europe, we find the three countries Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Sharing lots of their historical and cultural heritage, this copious collection contains work from producers of a wide range of musical manifestations – all located in the spectrum between traditional sample-based and organic sound to electronic and experimental compositions. Grown up in the nineties with the organic sounds from across the big pond and a long tradition of electronic music in the German speaking world, this compilation showcases the fusion of electronic and classical soulful organic elements in the beat scene. The sound is as diverse as the country and its people, from Spaetzle to Klopse and from HipHop to Techno, on this compilation you can find Boombap from the likes of Brenk & Suff Daddy but also electronic sounds from the likes of Robot Koch and Bit Tuner as well as atmospheric sonical waves from Glenn Astro and Anthony Drawn.
The influences vary from Jazz records, video games, Hip Hop, Drum 'n' Bass and Techno. But are there two different camps clashing here? Retro vs future, mountain village vs urban center, winter vs summer...

Neuigkeiten aus und von dem Treehouse Massive in Köln: Der Retrogott und Twit One haben sich abermals als 2Trackboy & Echomann zusammengetan, zwei Spuren draufgepackt und wollen in Kürze mit "MMX" den Nachfolger zur 2008 erschienenen EP "esmusssosein" veröffentlichen. Kein Wort bislang zu Datum noch der Höhe der Auflage (esmusssosein war lediglich auf Mini-CD in einer Auflage von 100 Einheiten und später als Download erhältlich). We keep you posted.
The new generation of beat smiths understands Hip Hop, Techno and the diverse new styles between electronic and organic grooves evolving from them, not as a mere pose, but as an aesthetic principle, exploring the boundaries of these musical styles. Therefore, the crucial artistic questions are - How can you make known subjects in other contexts and how abstract can it be? How do the individual environments, experiences and personal circumnstances influence the artists and how does this reflect in their music? We can now gather some of these arising artists on this concept, allowing you to become familiar with these extraordinary musicians.
The compilations and events show the wide range of this emerging beat music scene, the originality of each artist and tries to unite very different types of artists to a common denominator: Finest Ego

Mutig, mutig. Nicht jeder traut sich an einen Remix eines Slum Village/J Dilla-Klassikers. Das ist auch irgendwie gut so. Twit One, Teil von Testiculo y Uno sowie Produzent des Fleur Earth Experiments traut sich dennoch und beweist ein feines Gespür für warme Sounds, staubige Drums, tierische Samples und Klangeffekte. Dass der Remix jemals den Weg auf Vinyl findet, bleibt schwer zu hoffen, der Rest tröste sich bitte mit dem Original.
Ditt isset nu, das neue Video von Fleur Earth. Gemacht von Twit One und dazugehörig zum neuen Album Es Entstehen Wesen. Vor 2 Wochen noch im Cassiopeia (war ganz geil) jetzt uff Youtube. So ist die moderne Zeit.
Die Hi-Hat Club Compilation-Reihe des Kölner Labels MPM geht mit Suff Daddy als Produzenten-Schirmherr in die zweite Runde.
Am Freitag steigt nun im cassiopeia quasi die Party zur Compilation. Neben Suff Daddy werden aus dem Hause MPM auch Twit One (zusammen mit Hulk Hodn war er für die den ersten Teil der Reihe verantwortlich.), sowie Fleur Earth und C:Mone mit dabei sein. Letztere steuern selbstverständlich den Gesang bei. Außerdem mit an Bord: MeMyselfAndI und natürlich die Beatevolutioners.
Das cassiopeia findet ihr in der Revaler Str. 99 im schönen Berliner Friedrichshain und um 23 Uhr geht's los. Los!
Vor kurzem hier mit Mixes der Beteiligten angeteast (Anglizismen-Overkill ahoi!), gibbet jetzt einen schnieken Videoausschnitt vom Kölner Beat BBQ. fLako killt wieder ALLES. (Danke an das Tapedeck!)
