STROKE.ARTFAIR is teaming up with PROJECT MOONCIRCLE to present an incredible selection of sounds and artworks.

The STROKE.ARTFAIR and Project: Mooncircle – founded in 2002 and presently one of the most creative german Music-labels - have teamed up to present STROKE.MUSIC, their first joint cooperation; a “soundtrack to art”. The Berlin based label, with its unconventional and genre-crossing mixture between Hip Hop, Electronica, Downbeat, Soul, and Dubstep, and the first worldwide Urban Art Fair share a great set of ideals and, therefore, promise to be the perfect partners for STROKE.MUSIC. To bring STROKE.MUSIC into being, the artists of the STROKE.ARTFAIR galleries were asked to choose their personal favorite song out of the vast musical label-archive and use it as inspiration to create a new piece of art. The results of this venture will be presented in Munich during the STROKE.ARTFAIR in a special exhibition. Every interested visitor will be able to listen to the music while looking at the art in order to blend the impressions into a complete audio-visual experience. The STROKE.MUSIC compilation will be available as a free download for the first thousand interested listeners. Afterwards, every art- and music-aficionado can acquire the compilation for the price they believe to be appropriate.
The next issue of the fair - STROKE.ARTFAIR - will take place once again in Munich (may 26 - 29).

The new generation of beat smiths understands Hip Hop, Techno and the diverse new styles between electronic and organic grooves evolving from them, not as a mere pose, but as an aesthetic principle, exploring the boundaries of these musical styles. Therefore, the crucial artistic questions are - How can you make known subjects in other contexts and how abstract can it be? How do the individual environments, experiences and personal circumnstances influence the artists and how does this reflect in their music? We can now gather some of these arising artists on this concept, allowing you to become familiar with these extraordinary musicians.
The compilations and events show the wide range of this emerging beat music scene, the originality of each artist and tries to unite very different types of artists to a common denominator: Finest Ego

*SHAHMEN* is what hip-hop is supposed to sound like in the year 2010. The SHAHMEN sound is a dance between moments of pure tonal bliss and dark, hard, banging beats .
Imagine, SENSE (of The Q4) as the mystical, more musically composed student of Muggs and RZA , who learned a secret his teachers did not. Building from their foundation, he reaches new plateaus in the dimensionality of sample composition. Finding his own, unique formula for interweaving haunting melodies between head banging drums, the music pulls you into a trance like state where the rock solid voice of B L S finds the perfect soundscape to sink in. Straight up, B L S has the realest voice in rap in a very long time; ranging from a thundering bass which most rappers can only mimic with a pitch-shift, to a hazy drawl reminiscent of a cowboy in an old western. The unique vocal tone is matched in the lyrics, and B L S stands apart in the original narratives he weaves, leaving far behind the overused and tired archetypes of street stories, and pop-culture punch lines.
Simply put, SHAHMEN the illest seven letter word since OutKast or Nirvana.

Numaads sounds different, looks different and thinks different.
Esperanzah is like a siren calling the listeners to her as she floats on the ocean of sound, created by her long time friend and musical partner SENSE (of The Q4 and Shahmen ) . Her smooth earthy rap voice and angelic singing are carried beautifully by the strong drums and atmospheric vibes, and speaks to us of realignment with nature, with our roots and with ourselves. SENSE skilfully combines original use of sampling, interweaved with organic instrumentation, to sculpt a sound that carries an almost mystical atmosphere. He is a craftsman who has been perfecting his art for many years and is now coming forth in to the light.
The record features four original songs and two remixes of the title song Now, by renowned producers Robot Koch and J Rawls .
