A city is a place for us to be lonely together… ’Loneliness in a big city‘ – a topic which has been accompanying people since they started their travels to far away places. But what does this particular loneliness really mean nowadays? Is it just a void filled with sadness and feeling of isolation in the coldhearted sort of place? Or maybe a space in one’s mind to find the better path on their road of life…? Let us present you opinions of several foreigners trying to make their dreams come true in a different country. Their statements are mixed with electronic, dubstep tunes, such as: Rumpistol, Rain Dog, Yoko Duo, Christoph El’ Truento, Soosh, Gards From KC, Krts, Sipp, Steamgoat, 1000names, Teebs, Sina., Antennae, Mo Kolours, Melo, Frederic Robinson, Broken Bubble, Kilimanjaro, George Fitzgerald, Furesshu, Jacques Greene, Inga Copeland, Long Arm, Robot Koch and 40 Winks. … and you… have you ever been lonely in a big city….?
We are very pleased to announce our guests for our upcoming Monthly Trip on the 19th of November! RBMA alumni kidkanevil (UK) and Amenta (Canada) will perform together at Panke, Berlin. Being the first time kidkanevil plays in Berlin and one of the rare occasions to see him and Amenta perform together, we can expect futuristic beats between avantgarde Electronica and organic HipHop in combination with Amenta's folky and soulful voice. Supporting DJs will be DJ Werd, Radio&Fernseh and Malte.
While kidkanevil, also being a member of Stateless (Ninja Tune), already released three albums, a remix album, plus various other projects on First Word Records (working together with such artists as Bonobo, Jehst, Lateef, Andreya Triana, Illum Sphere, Mr Thing, Natural Self, DJ Vadim & Yarah Bravo amongst many others), Amenta has just released her first very well received deput EP "Sacred Places" on the same label. However, in her music-career she has already worked with such prolific producers as Blue Daisy, Mau’Lin, fLako, kidKanevil, Om Unit, Clinic, Lost Twin and Throwing Snow, most of whom can also be found on her EP.

Presented by Project: Mooncircle and CanYouDigit, internationally renowned and critically acclaimed artists Robot Koch and Long Arm will play a label showcase at Cafe Leopold on the 11th of November in Vienna.
Supported by such DJs as their labelmate Gordon Gieseking as well as Kidkut, DJ Laho, Daze, Lexo, Motkii and many more you can expect all varieties of abstract and futuristic beat music between organic and electronic styles.
Robot Koch
“One of Europe`s finest producers of the beat generation“ (Low End Theory), is much more than just a beatmaker and a constant guest in the playlists of Mary Anne Hobbs, Starkey, Daedelus and Gaslamp Killer. With his new album „The Other Side“ there is a new dimension to Koch`s production and songwriting with its cinematic vibe, the quirky and moody feel and the electricity that creates intimate and timeless pieces of music that are soulful, deep, mysterious and that will appeal to fans of cutting edge Electronica and modern pop music alike.
Long Arm
Long Arm from Russia is one of the most gifted young producers in the area of abstract instrumental Hip Hop. His debut album "The Branches", released on Project: Mooncircle, made it into radio shows of Mary Anne Hobbs (XFM) as well as Gilles Peterson's "All Winners" show on BBC Radio 1, his personal list of favorites of the year 2011 so far. His sophomore release "Organic", a collection of new and unreleased songs but also remix versions from the likes of Daisuke Tanabe, Krts and FiJi & Eugenia Peters, has recently been released, also on Project: Mooncircle.

This mix was given to us by Gordon as a tribute to Satta Outside (we will organise a Beatmaker Challenge / Ritmo Kovos together with our friends from Renegades of Bump there).
No doubt, the Project: Mooncircle showcase at the festival, including Robot Koch, fLako, 1000 Names and Playpad Circus as well as the DJs Gordon and Jinna will be another highlight this year!
I woke up this morning, with a slight hungover, to find an email in the inbox from Gordon of Project: Mooncircle telling me he had a guest mix for us. Always a pleasant surprise when good friends of ours get in touch like this, even more when it’s someone like Gordon who we’ve worked with for years now ever since the beginnings of both Rhythm Incursions and Project: Mooncircle back in the early/mid 00s. Regular listeners will no doubt be familiar with the label’s output – releases from the label are a common feature in our monthly shows and we’ve had quite a few of their artists guest on the show in the past (click here for a run down). So to finally have Gordon, the man behind the label, step up for a guest mix is nice. Actually if memory serves me right Gordon did do a guest spot for us back in 05 when Waxfactor presented the first Project:Mooncircle special which was also one of the first podcasts we did, back when Rhythm Incursions was a bi weekly show on Resonance FM. So nearly 6 years on (damn time flies) Gordon steps up again with a selection across the board featuring the likes of Headshotboyz, Shlohmo, Lapalux, Teebs, Quendolinfender, Capella, Coco Bryce, fLako, Koreless, DZA, Luisterwaar, Ital Tek, Jehst, Joe Kickass, Killing Skills, CYNE, Gards From KC, Evil Ed and more… The mix features a fair few unreleased/forthcoming bits and there is no tracklist aside from the above artists mention.
For more on Project:Mooncircle be sure to check their website, where you’ll find details of all their releases past and present. Up next they’ve got some tasty offerings from fLako and DZA as well as a Mike Gao LP coming in the summer. And stay tuned for details of a common project we’re working on as part of their Finest Ego series which I’m hoping we’ll be able to announce details for in the coming weeks.
As always you can download and/or stream the mix below. Or simply subscribe to our RSS/iTunes feed and never miss a show – links for that are below.
