Dorian Concept kommt aus der musikkulturellen Metropole Wien. Von Mozart über Falco bis hin zu Kruder & Dorfmeister haben es die Kinder der Stadt immer wieder verstanden, die Massen über die Landesgrenzen hinaus in ihren Bann zu ziehen. Und wenn uns nicht alles täuscht, werden die nächsten Jahre Dorian Concept (...autsch, welche Name!) gehören, dessen wunderbaren Mix aus Downbeat und elektronischen Spielereien man einfach lieben muss. Der beste Beleg dafür, dass es voran geht, ist seine Dancefloor-orientierte Ninja Tune-Debüt-12 Inch mit dem seltsamen Titel "Her Tears Taste Like Pears", das ab dieser Woche in den Läden stehen soll. Ein früher 2011er Pflichtkauf, hier zu ergattern.
The new generation of beat smiths understands Hip Hop, Techno and the diverse new styles between electronic and organic grooves evolving from them, not as a mere pose, but as an aesthetic principle, exploring the boundaries of these musical styles. Therefore, the crucial artistic questions are - How can you make known subjects in other contexts and how abstract can it be? How do the individual environments, experiences and personal circumnstances influence the artists and how does this reflect in their music? We can now gather some of these arising artists on this concept, allowing you to become familiar with these extraordinary musicians.

Rhythm Incursions roll firmly into autumn with an extended show, clocking at just under 2 hours. Fear not though as it’s a case of all the good bits and none of the fat, combined with a majority of tracks being longer than usual and my opting to let them play out.
