Pixelatique presents: Metropolis Seclusion | Mixed by Gordon of Project: Mooncircle
4 December 2011

A city is a place for us to be lonely together… ’Loneliness in a big city‘ – a topic which has been accompanying people since they started their travels to far away places. But what does this particular loneliness really mean nowadays? Is it just a void filled with sadness and feeling of isolation in the coldhearted sort of place? Or maybe a space in one’s mind to find the better path on their road of life…? Let us present you opinions of several foreigners trying to make their dreams come true in a different country. Their statements are mixed with electronic, dubstep tunes, such as: Rumpistol, Rain Dog, Yoko Duo, Christoph El’ Truento, Soosh, Gards From KC, Krts, Sipp, Steamgoat, 1000names, Teebs, Sina., Antennae, Mo Kolours, Melo, Frederic Robinson, Broken Bubble, Kilimanjaro, George Fitzgerald, Furesshu, Jacques Greene, Inga Copeland, Long Arm, Robot Koch and 40 Winks.
… and you… have you ever been lonely in a big city….?

40 Winks "A Trip" Mondayjazz Mix
28 March 2011

40 Winks is an instrumental hip hop group made up of two producers - padmo' and weedy - from Antwerp, Belgium. The guys release their material through notorious Project: Mooncircle label, which is going to launch new 40 Winks LP It's The Trip in the middle of April. And before that we got their mix A Trip. As supposed to be, you can get a selection of starters from 40 Winks own menu, complimented with stuff from their label mates and served with some fat names from the scene in general. And for the dessert mix goes with some nice and rear jazz tracks. So A Trip is yet another classic Monday's delight. Artwork by Justin Bryan Nelson!

40 Winks It's The Trip!
25 March 2011

Auf dem Mitte April erscheinen It’s The Trip gehen sie konsequent ihren Weg (»It’s the trip, not the destination«), imitieren also nicht die unsteten Beats ihrer jüngeren Kollegen, sondern setzen sehr fließende, an Jazz und Soul genährte Kompositionen. Den aktuellen Hype um die avancierten Beats lassen Weedy und Padmo zwar links liegen, sind mit ihrem atmosphärisch dichten, organischen Sound aber nicht minder zwingend.

Coming soon: 40 Winks “It’s The Trip” 2LP/Digital
12 March 2011

It’s The Trip
"Join 40 Winks on a road trip to anywhere. Bring your music player and tell your honey you won't be home for dinner. It's the trip, not the destination."

About 40 Winks:
No hay banda! (“there is no band”, Mulholland Dr. 2001) pretty much sums up where 40 Winks aims to go with its instrumental hip hop: meticulously chop and paste samples together, to create an atmosphere of beats and vibes which steps beyond unimaginative loops. 40 Winks hit the scene in 2002, with a whole slew of laidback beats. Eager to share their sound with the world, they released a couple of albums independently. The attention they got from this, allowed them to build with people from around the world. One of these independently released albums, More Than Loops, got reissued in Japan on Swamp Records, after that the ball kept rolling. On their first worldwide release, Extended Pleasure on Escapism Records (2005), they reached listeners well beyond the (instrumental) hip hop community with the song “Melancholia”. After appearances on compilations, like Weapons Of Hope on Little-D (2006), they got a chance to do their thing on the renowned label, Merck Records with Sound Puzzle (2007). All this led them back to Europe, where the German based Project: Mooncircle welcomed them with a spot on the compilation Heart On The Right Spot (2007) and a full album The Lucid Effect (2008). In 2009 they took some time off, doing solo stuff and remixes. In 2011 40 Winks is back with a double LP called It's The Trip (2011) on Project: Mooncircle. Mondayjazz.com - MJ167 "We're On The Moon" Mixed by Gordon Of Project: Mooncircle
17 January 2011

Mondayjazz.com (Jazz For The Working Class) from Russia proudly presents "We're On The Moon" by Mixed by Gordon Of Project: Mooncircle
press text:
Gordon Gieseking is a Berlin residing graphic artist, making artworks for various international labels and artists. He is also a DJ and a founder of Project: Mooncircle - label which representatives have been on Mondayjazz broadcast for several times. Just remember dope mixes from fLako, Robot Koch, Manuvers, Glen Porter, Pavel Dogval and many more, not to mention acts or artist, that could be associated as labels like minded friends. Core of the We're On The Moon is also constructed around labels production and having in mind the quantity and quality of Project: Mooncircle releases, it is a promising and wide spreading journey through actual music. But freshness isn't the only parameter, mix includes some all-time hits and is based under fluent, a bit dark and spacey emotion. The tracklist includes acts like Fancy Mike, Mr. Projectile, Evil Ed, FERARRI, Robot Koch, Pavel Dovgal, Juj, Jungle Drums And Ahu, Azzurro, 40 Winks, SATO, John Robinson, Lewis Parker, StaHHr, Cymarshall Law, 4RCE, Lewis McCallum, Long Arm, Dela, Doppelkopf, Asaviour , Szenario, Dj Krush, Zap Mama, Tumi, Jahbitat, Take, Tycho, Robot Robinson & Lusine. So an excellent presentation of material that has in some way always been around, but for the first time is clearly detailed. It will give you joy of cognition through recognition.

Many years ago during the hard times of life in Moscow, the young girl saw the Moon consciously for the first time and at that very moment the dream began. Soon she found the label Project: Mooncircle over the internet and told them her story, at once she saw a chance to come a few steps closer to her dream.
